Shop Update May 2026 May 28 2026, 0 Comments

Thank you to everyone who visited the stand at Buxton, it was a lovely weekend despite the showers. It really is one of my favourite shows of the year.

This month's shop update is a bumper one for the new repeatable colourways - most are now available on Enchant, Enchant DK and Lustrous Lace as well as Crush and Selkino. Dye to Order will be available for them very soon I hope, in the mean time if you really can't wait do drop me an email.

I'm also really pleased to announce this month the launch of the new-to-us non-superwash base Mineralogy, spun by the lovely team at John Arbon in Devon. I have really enjoyed adding some of my favourite colourways to this interesting base and seeing how they turn out. If you love non-superwash yarns this is one to try. If you are lucky enough to be able to visit their Mill Weekend next month, there will also be a small quantity available there in different colourways to the ones in this shop update so do check that out too. One year I will manage to make the Mill Weekend!

Outside of SQ we have been really busy with my eldest now doing his A Levels and my daughter had her birthday last weekend so glad it's half term this week even if it is a bit hot!

Sorry for the shorter email this week - I still have yarn to put on the website. Do check out the preview page and read on for more details. There will be lots of Crush, Enchant, Enchant DK, Floof, Lustrous Lace, Selkino and Crush DK in the update as well as Mineralogy.

Mineralogy

Mineralogy is a wonderfully woolly yarn, bouncy, soft and warm, with that natural loft and character that non-superwash lovers really treasure. As you can see from the photos, colour behaves a little differently on an untreated fibre, giving a softer, more blended look than you might be used to from our superwash bases. Same colourways, completely different personality. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Show Colourways

Inspired by books, these are the two colourways dyed for shows this month.

Dark Parties

Dyed for Yarnies at the Flaxmill, this colourway is inspired by the book written by Sara Grant in which a teenage girl living under a government-controlled dome risks everything to uncover the truth about her isolated society.

Little Grey Rabbit

Something totally different for Buxton, this time I took inspiration from one of my favourite series of books as a small child, written by Alison Uttley about the adventures of a group of anthropomorphised woodland animals.

Crush

Crush is a superwash merino sock yarn, smooth and hardwearing with great stitch definition. This update is a big one for Crush - as well as a stock up of popular repeatable colourways there are three of the new colourways available: Gentle Surf, Scotch Mist and Tidal Shift, and a couple of skeins of Snakeslocks Anemone, a colourway from the British Wildlife Yarn Club.

Enchant

Enchant is a beautifully soft blend of alpaca, silk and cashmere with a gentle halo and lovely drape. This update includes Tidal Shift from the new colourway range alongside a stock up of other popular repeatable colourways.

Enchant DK

Enchant DK is the same gorgeous blend of alpaca, silk and cashmere as Enchant but in a DK weight, perfect for lightweight garments and accessories. All four of the new colourways - Gentle Surf, Amber Thicket, Tidal Shift and Scotch Mist - are available on Enchant DK in this update.

Floof

Floof is a mohair and silk laceweight with a fluffy, cloud-like halo that creates a soft and dreamy fabric. It works beautifully on its own or held together with another yarn for added texture and interest. This update includes Amber Thicket, Scotch Mist and Tidal Shift from the new colourway range, plus a small number of skeins of Chesil Beach.

Lustrous Lace

Lustrous Lace is an equal blend of non-superwash merino and silk, giving it a beautiful drape and lustrous finish that makes it ideal for shawls, scarves and garments. All four new colourways are available in this update alongside Provence and Ruby Embers.

Selkino

Selkino is superwash merino and silk single-ply yarn, giving it a smooth handle and a subtle sheen. This update includes Scotch Mist from the new colourway range alongside a stock up of other repeatable colourways.
