Shop Update Late June - Early July 2026 July 10 2026, 0 Comments

First of all, a warm welcome to anyone joining us from the Ohhh That's Why Summit or from Ravelry! I'm so glad you're here. I hope you'll find plenty of useful bits and interesting things in these weekly emails. Feel free to contact me any time if you have questions.

What a week! The heat last week was something else and I have to admit it has caused a few problems behind the scenes.

The shop update is a small one this week, but it's a good one! I also have a few favourite colourways left from Cumbrian Wool Gathering if you missed out at the show. Check out the preview.

As I'm away next week, orders for yarn will now be posted after the 20th when I'm back.

Dying Update

Your June yarn club parcels have been posted! They went out slightly later than usual but should hopefully have arrived already. The extreme heat last week made dyeing impossible for a few days, with the temperature in my dye room hitting 29 degrees even with the door shut and no pots on. I'm sorry for any wait, but they're on their way now and I hope you love them when they arrive.

Dye-to-order parcels have all gone out now. If the heat continues it may also cause more delays to dye to order, so just worth bearing in mind if you are thinking of ordering anything and please leave a little extra time.

Workshops - 1st August

I'm so excited to share that I have two workshops coming up on 1st August, both taught by the brilliant Nessa Hubbard who has just launched the Knitting Confidence community.

Cast On and Bind Off: a 2.5 hour knitting workshop including a sandwich lunch. Perfect if you've always wanted to try some new techniques and give your knitting the polished edges it deserves.

Then there's the Granny Hexagon Cardi workshop where you will learn to turn two simple granny hexagons into a sweet, wearable cardigan. The day is finished off with cake.

Join us for either workshop or book both and save £10 and both workshops include 10% off any yarn you buy on the day, so a great excuse to treat yourself!

New on Ravelry

I've been busy adding my patterns to Ravelry - if you use Ravelry to browse and save patterns you can now find most of them there, including my free DK sock pattern. Purchasing is still through my Payhip store, but it makes it much easier to find and save designs in one place.

Do link your makes to the pattern, I love to see your interpretation of my designs!

Wriggle

This may be a very small shop update but the highlight is the Wriggle. I love this yarn! Wriggle is a 100% merino singles yarn in fingering weight. Singles yarns like this have a lovely rustic, tactile quality and a beautiful drape that's quite different from a plied yarn. These are non-repeatable colourways so once they're gone, they're gone.
