Shop Update March 2026 April 02 2026, 0 Comments

Yes, I know it's 1st April today, but it isn't an April Fool, this is the March update. It's actually 7 years today since I took over Skein Queen so thank you to everyone whether you've followed me since then or have found me more recently, I'm so grateful for everyone who supports me.

The Open Studio last weekend was lovely - thank you to everyone who came along. It’s always nice to see yarn in person and chat about projects.

Outside of the studio my kids are on Easter holidays, so we have some fun things planned. When they go back it won't be long until exams so hoping for a mix of rest and revision.

The yarn is already on the website to preview, do take care to check the quantities because they aren't all full batches, and there are quite a few non-repeatable single skeins. Read on for more details of what there is.

Yasksino

Yaksino is a blend of merino, yak and silk, dyed on a natural grey base which gives colours a deeper, slightly more tonal feel. This update includes a range of non-repeatable colourways dyed especially for the Open Studio and shop update. I have also added some natural undyed skeins which works well as a contrast and show the colour of the base when it arrives in the studio.

Oasis Grande

A new base for this update, Oasis Grande is a smooth and luxurious blend of baby camel and silk. It has a soft handle and an elegant drape, making it particularly suited to shawls and lightweight accessories. The warm natural base gives dyed colours a gentle depth and softness.

Quantities are limited for this first batch.

Enchant & Enchant DK

There are a small number of skeins of Enchant included in this update. This base is a soft blend of alpaca, silk and cashmere, with a gentle halo and lovely drape. I will be dyeing more of these bases for our next show, let me know if you have any colourway requests!

Crush

There is lots of Crush, including some non-repeatable colourways, which I hope are clearly marked, and many semi solids. 100g is plenty to knit a pair of socks so don't be put off by single skeins.

Yarn Clubs

There are a few spare skeins from the first two months of the new clubs on Coorie and Crush. So far we have had St Dwynwen's Day and Mardi Gras for Celebrations club and Hedgehog and Red Fox for the British Wildlife club. If you would like to get the colourways on your choice of base there are more options if you sign up for the club and receive the new colourway every month before anyone else.

Other Bases

There are also a selection of other familiar bases included in this update including Cloudgazer, Flockly DK, Floof, Lustrous Lace, Selkino and Slinky Twist. Make sure to check those out too.

I'm looking forward to the long weekend, hopefully it will involve some knitting time and good weather. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. Whatever you have planned, have a very Happy Easter!
