September Shop Update 2025 September 21 2025, 0 Comments

Thank you to everyone who visited the stand at Unravel... Autumn last weekend. We had a lovely time and it was nice to see so many people and help plan so many new projects. Lots of people were looking for yarn for the upcoming Westknits MKAL and I have lots of ideas for colourways but I haven't added any sets to this shop update but I can add some to the website if there is interest or I'm happy to help over email if you would like some advise.

There is a lot of yarn in this shop update as its the first one since before the summer. Look out for the non-repeatable colourways on Lustrous and Wriggle! There is also repeatable colourways on Crush, Crush DK, Selkino and small amounts on Enchant, Enchant DK and Floof. The last few skeins from the summer reboot are also in this shop update and these colourways won't be available again.

Outside of SQ its been A Bit of a Week! Everyone is ok tho but this update might be slightly shorter than it would otherwise have been as I still need to upload some of the yarn before this evening.

If you are new to SQ, our shop updates take place at 8pm UK time (currently BST) but you can preview all the new yarns before then on the website either from the link on the homepage or via the button below in this email which comes out on the day of the shop update with details of what's new. In between shop updates I send about 1 email a week, usually on a Wednesday, which is shorter than this one.

Non-repeatable colourways

Lustrous

Five harvest themed, non-repeatable colourways on this silky soft yarn. Lustrous is a mix of 50% merino and 50% silk and is smooth with a beautiful sheen. Its idea for between season projects where you get a nice fabric that is both cool and warm.

Wiggle

A warm welcome back to a personal favourite base of mine - Wriggle. This is a 100% merino singles yarn with a beautiful drape. Only 4 colourways made it back from Unravel, but don't worry, I will dye some more very soon. Let me know if you have any requests.

Summer Reboot

Our Summer Reboot is when you have a chance to order any of the previous year's limited edition colourways or big skeins of the mini club colourways. These skeins are the odd ones left from dye batches when I dyed those orders. I won't be repeating them again so don't wait too long if one catches your eye!

Bloom

These two skeins from February's mini skeins club when we visited Glamorgan, go perfectly together. The variegated one is Crucible of the Industrial Revolution and the semi-solid is Red Lady. Bloom is a lovely 100% Bluefaced Leicester yarns suitable for socks or any other projects. The Bluefaced Leicester 100% British and sourced from small UK farms particularly in Wales.

Tethys Ocean was the semi solid colourway from December 2024 when we visited East Sussex. Inspired by the ocean that was the place where the iconic white cliffs were created.

Fortingal Yew was a colourway from April when we visited Perthshire and is inspired by the ancient yew tree which is the oldest in the UK and estimated to be between 2000 and 3000 years old.

Crush DK

Glastonbury Tor was the variegated colourway from last September's visit to Somerset. Inspired by the dark skies, green grass and the tower of St Michael's Church.

Brighton Pride is a variegated colourway inspired by the UKs largest Pride Festival held in Brighton, East Sussex. Its pale blue grey with plenty of rainbow speckles!

Mingling with Giants was the very first show colourway I dyed way back in July 2019 inspired by the Giant's Causeway and was recreated for March's visit to County Antrim.

Dark Skies was the sell out show colourway for Cumbrian Wool Gathering in June. A dark grey with pops of colour peeping through the grey. Also available on Enchant.

Show Colourways

Greenham Orchids

This year Greenham Common is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its return to public ownership and one of the plants that has flourished on the common are orchids, particularly in late summer so the colourway this year is "Greenham Orchids". Eight skeins left on Crush DK so ideal if you are looking for a garment quantity but only one left on Crush 4ply

Pumpkin Spice

There is just one skein of the Unravel... Autumn colourway on Crush left. Inspired by the perennial favourite autumnal flavour Pumpkin Spice. Do you think I should open a pre-order before halloween?

Retired Colourways

Burns Night

There are two skeins left of this retiring colourway on Selkino. Silver grey with purple, violet, plum and gold. This is your last chance to grab this colourway.

Fairy Dust

The last skein of Fairy Dust on Crush DK. If you are looking for a different base or larger quantity I recommend looking at Glitter Bomb which is the newer version of this speckled colourway.

You can find the other last few skeins of retiring colourways here. When they're gone they're gone!

Repeatable Colourways

I have dyed lots of our popular colourways on Crush, Crush DK, Enchant, Enchant DK, Selkino and some Floof. If you can't find the colourway you are looking for you can order any repeatable colourway on these bases apart from Floof in the Dye to Order section of the website. If you are looking for Floof in other colours let me know and I'll see what I can do.
