September Shop Update September 20 2021, 0 Comments

Wow, what a month is has been so far! Thank-you to everyone who came and said hi at Southern Wool Show and if this is your first newsletter, Welcome! It was a fabulous weekend, well organised with plenty of space, lots of visitors but the timed tickets meant everyone had time to look around without a crowd. If you came along do let me know what you thought.

After that I'm really looking forward to Yarndale 25th and 26th September at Skipton in Yorkshire. Make sure you book your tickets if you are planning in visiting. It would be lovely to see you there.

Tonight's shop update is a little smaller than previous ones because of dyeing for Yarndale, so its Blush, Crush, Desire Marble and Selkino. There are also a very few skeins of the show colour 'Rainbows in Newbury' left on Crush and Crush DK but this is it.

All the yarn is uploaded to the website already so if you would like to go straight to the preview page you can use the button below, otherwise read on for my descriptions of the yarn types.

Take care, stay safe and keep warm. Its beginning to feel very autumnal round here.

Blush

This was very popular at the show and we are dyeing more semi-solid colours for Yarndale but in the mean time there are lots of variegated colourways and 3 new semi solids.

Crush

Crush is our sock yarn base but it doesn't need to be kept for socks. I've knitted garments and shawls with it too.

Selkino

This soft, smooth single ply merino silk yarn is perfect for low-abrasion, indulgent projects such as shawls, scarves and cowls.

Desire Marble

Its just over a year now since this unusual base was introduced and it still seems to be as popular as it was then. Its 100% merino but one ply has some lengths of natural black fibre giving an interesting heathered/ marbled effect.

Thank-you for reading this newsletter and I look forward to seeing you at Yarndale if you are visiting. Take care and keep crafting,
