June 2025 Shop Update June 30 2025, 0 Comments
Thank you to everyone who visited the stand at the show last weekend, it was brilliant despite the weather which was rather too hot on Friday and Saturday then very wet on the way home Sunday but that couldn't spoil a lovely weekend.
Short email this week as I've been unpacking and doing all the photography for this shop update in 2 days rather than 3 and I'm sorry I never sent an email last week, I only realised when I when to write this one!
The kids are in the middle of end of year / mock exams at the moment but seem to be sailing through (most of) them without issues. There are a couple of subjects my daughter won't be missing come September when she starts GCSEs.
I've arranged this email a little differently this month - do let me know what you think. If you want to go straight to a specific base then they are all on the website and there is Lustrous, Crush, Crush DK, Selkino, Enchant, Lustrous Lace and a single colourway of Floof. Read on for a description of what we've got grouped by colour collections rather than base this time.
Next month will be a repeat of last years popular second chance pre order for limited edition colourways with all new colourways. If you missed out on the show colourway this weekend keep an eye out as it will be available for a limited time.
Non-repeatable colourways
Lustrous
Lustrous is made from 50% merino wool and 50% silk. This combination gives you a yarn that’s soft, strong, and has a beautiful natural shine. It’s lightweight, breathable, and perfect for projects where you want a smooth feel and a subtle sheen.
Our new colorways for Lustrous focus on pale, fresh shades that work beautifully with the yarn’s shine. There's soft pink Blush Petal, gentle green and yellow Spring Catkin, light purple Lilac Rain, pale blue Rainwashed Sky and warm Peach Dew. These colours are calm, natural, and perfect for your summer projects.
Glow Theory
I have dyed our new Glow Theory colourways on more bases this month. They are now all in stock on Crush and Crush DK (apart from Voltage which sold out at the show - order it Dye to Order here!) and the variegateds are on Enchant and the semi solids plus Glitter Bomb are on Lustrous Lace.

Birds Collection
Our birds collection of colourways has been around a while and has new birds added while others are retired. I have recently been sharing them as a collection more as while they aren't designed to go with each other they do make a very pretty set of colourways. These are the colourways from the collection we have new stock of.
Kingfisher
Puffin
Snow Bunting
Berkshire Collection
The original collection of semi solids were all named after local places to the studio in Berkshire - since then we have expanded the collection so much we have had to start venturing slightly further afield with our place names. This month we have top ups of just two colourways, both on Selkino.

Hermitage
Rich, vintage gold.
Hermitage is a village very close to Skein Queen HQ, located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Highclere Castle
Darkest brown-grey with slight purple undertone.
Highclere Castle is a country house set in a park designed by Capability Brown and lies just south of Newbury. It serves as the location for the filming of tv series, Downton Abbey.
