January Shop Update February 18 2022, 0 Comments

New Year, New Yarn!

Are we wishing Happy New Year this year, or just letting it creep in and hope it behaves? Whichever, I hope you are safe and well.

Thank-you to everyone who came to Waltham Abbey Wool Show, it was a great day in a lovely venue. I thoroughly recommend it as a show to visit if you can.

After that we did our big new year stock take so this shop update has lots of new yarn including a lot of unrepeatable colourways and very small batches. I think I counted over 100 new colourways across nearly 20 bases!

Last piece of news I hope you have already seen on social media is the introduction of a 10% discount if you buy 4 or more skeins of Crush DK that are in stock (not pre-orders, sorry). This should be applied automatically but isn't valid with any other offer. Do message me if you notice an issue.

We will be uploading yarn today so do keep checking back. There are good quantities of Blush, Slinky Twist, Crush and Crush DK, jumper quantities of Sonsie Aran and small amounts of lots of other bases. Check the shop update preview page for all the new yarns or read on for more information and photos.

Don't forget EU customers can now order from the website and if the order is under €150 the vat is paid at the checkout with no further charges when you receive your parcel. Do share this with your yarn-loving friends in the EU! Customers so far have reported parcels arriving quickly and with no extra worries which is great. You can add tracking to your parcel for extra peace of mind.

Sonsie Aran

This is a perfect jumper yarn and is custom spun for us in Devon from Corridale and Polworth sheep. If you need inspiration for patterns Ready, Set, Raglan is a great book with lots of styles and options for creating a custom sweater. If you have stashed any of this yarn before, please be aware that this is the second batch we have received and the twist is slightly visibly different, just in case you are planning on using them together.

Crush

Crush is a brilliant yarn with many uses. Its primarily designed as a sock yarn with a small amount of nylon to make it hardwearing but this also makes it great for garments and with the rest of the fibre being merino its soft and has a lovely drape so also makes great shawls and accessories. We have restocked a lot of our standard colourways on as well as adding a few unrepeatable skeins for that extra special project. This is also the last chance to grab a skein of the super popular show colourway Meteor Storm from WAWS.

Blush

Sumptuously soft, hand dyed yarn with a touch of cashmere which is perfect for projects such as shawls, accessories and special garments. All our Blush colourways are unrepeatable and dyed in batches of up to 4 skeins.

Crush DK

There are several larger batches of Crush DK including this one in Lighthouse. Don't forget if you buy 4 or more skeins of Crush DK at the same time from the yarn we have in stock you will save 10%. Why not start a blanket or a sweater?

Check out the preview page for all the other yarns I haven't had space to tell you about - there's Laceweight, Fingering and DK - Alpaca, Cashmere, Silk, Mohair, Merino and more!
