Tunisian Crochet Workshop 9th November 2024

I am really pleased to be running another beginners full day Tunisian Crochet workshop at the studio. It will be taught by Sharon Carter who is is a freelance technical editor, yarn dyer, designer and experienced tutor. She has had several patterns published in both Knit Now and Crochet Now magazines. She particularly enjoys working with the amazing textures Tunisian crochet can produce and is keen to pass on her love of this technique.

This is what she says about the workshop:

I love Tunisian Crochet – you can create some really interesting textures and effects, particularly when working with 2 colours.
Suitable for beginners, you will learn how to cast on and work the Tunisian Simple Stitch. You will also learn how to increase, decrease and cast off. You will also learn to work with 2 colours (this produces lovely effects with very little effort!).
Once we have covered the basics, you will be able to work at your own pace to learn a variety of Tunisian crochet stitches. We will also take a look at following patterns and charted instructions.
We will be making a number of small samples to practice the different stitches and techniques.

Workshop includes: Tunisian crochet hook, yarn, class notes.

Requirements: Suitable for beginners. Some experience with knitting or crochet is useful but not essential!

Time: 10am til 3pm

Tea, coffee and homemade cake are included but please bring your own lunch. There isn't anywhere within walking distance of the studio that serves food.
